Essential reading for leaders

Update your reading list with these suggestions...

Last week I had the immense pleasure of spending two days learning and sharing with some of the North West's best leaders as part of the Amplify board advisor programme. We were assembled on the basis we had scaled and led a business successfully with a track record of caring about people.

This unique group revealed many 'nuggets' of wisdom but something I thought quick and useful to share widely was our collective reading list.

We all agreed days are often overfull with commitments and acknowledged it is hard to find time to receive new ideas, new philosophies and new skills - but understood it was critical to both commercial and personal success.

In fact many of us credited the 'turning point' in our careers, ability to lead well or positive shifts in our personal lives to books. 'Catalytic', 'life-changing' and 'compulsory reading' were terms used to passionately describe the gift books had given us.

So in an effort to share generously, and in no particularly order, here are the books valued by some the region's best leaders....
